Baltic Amadeus, UAB Receives an EU Grant Amounting to LTL 193 510 to Expand the Export of IT Programming Services.

Baltic Amadeus, UAB successfully operating in the Lithuanian information technology (IT) market for as long as 21 years has received funding amounting to LTL 193 510.00 for the project “Expanding the Export of Baltic Amadeus, UAB High Technology based IT Programming Services through Reinforcing Company’s Export Skills” under the Operational Programme 2007-2013: Economic Growth, 2nd Priority “Increasing business productivity and improving environment for business”, Measure No. VP2-2.1-ŪM-04-K “New Opportunities”. The total sum of investment into expanding the export of Baltic Amadeus’ services will amount to LTL 276 444.00.
The objective for allocation of funding under the Measure “New Opportunities” is to encourage companies to search for foreign partners more actively and to help increase sales in foreign markets. At this moment the export of IT programming services conducted by Baltic Amadeus, UAB constitutes a relatively small part in the company’s sales mix, therefore, the received EU grant will reinforce the company’s export skills and export potential through producing an export expansion strategy and introducing the company at foreign events.
“At the time of the present economic recession it is of the utmost importance to consider new export opportunities and potential directions of expansion,” says Viktoras Tonkich, the President of Baltic Amadeus, UAB. According to him, in the course of the project “Expanding the export of Baltic Amadeus, UAB high technology based IT programming services through reinforcing the company’s export skills” four interrelated activities designed to increase the volume of the company’s export will be implemented. The export expansion strategy will be as much as possible tailor-made to Baltic Amadeus, UAB operations, and during the nine months allocated for project implementation the company’s potential and opportunities will be evaluated and all the necessary information on the targeted foreign markets will be gathered. According to the company President V. Tonkich, the increased foreign sales will also contribute to the general advance of export indices of the Lithuanian high technology sector.
The project focused on expanding the export of IT programming services at Baltic Amadeus, UAB was launched in November of 2009, and it is expected to be completed in August of 2010.
